SS 440C Hollow Bar consists mainly of iron, 16-18% chromium, 0.95-1.2% carbon, and traces of manganese, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, and nickel. It contains more chromium content which strengthens, hardens, and protects against corrosion. Its mechanical properties include tensile strength ranging from 850-1000 MPa, yield strength is 450 MPa, and hardness of 56-58 HRC after heat treatment. This resistance to oxidation, wear, and corrosion makes it useful for high-stress applications within industries such as aerospace, automotive, and manufacturing.
