SS 410 is a martensitic stainless steel, with major composition consisting of 11.5–13.5% chromium, carbon of 0.08% max, small quantities of manganese, silicon, and nickel. SS 410 provides excellent oxidation and corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures, good strength and hardness. Mechanical properties comprise tensile strength of 550–750 MPa, yield strength of 220–480 MPa, and hardness of 45–50 HRC. SS 410 hollow bars often are used in applications needing wear resistance, such as valves and pumps and machinery parts components where high strength and corrosion resistant capabilities are required.
