Stainless steel 347H is the high carbon alloy of the 347 grade, containing chromium (17-19%) and nickel (9-13%) for corrosion resistance. Also included is columbium (niobium), which provides increased intergranular corrosion resistance, especially at high temperatures. This alloy is known for its excellent mechanical properties such as high tensile strength (up to 515 MPa), excellent weldability, and resistance to oxidation and scaling up to 900°C (1652°F) Generally is in applications requiring thermal resistance, such as stainless steel for medical applications, pressure vessels and high-temperature degassing 347H for increased durability and stability

The primary alloying element in Stainless Steel 347H is niobium (Nb), which stabilizes the material against carbide precipitation during welding and high-temperature exposure. This enhances its resistance to intergranular corrosion and improves its overall high-temperature strength.
Stainless Steel 347H is most suitable for applications in the temperature range of 800°C to 1500°F (427°C to 815°C). This range allows it to maintain its strength, corrosion resistance, and stability, particularly in high-temperature environments like furnaces.
Typical dimensions of a Stainless Steel 347H flat bar range from 0.25 inches (6 mm) to 6 inches (150 mm) in thickness and 1 inch (25 mm) to 12 inches (300 mm) in width. Custom sizes are also available.
