Semih Metals, located in Istanbul, Turkey, stands out as a reliable manufacturer and supplier of Aluminium 3003 forgings. These components are lightweight and resistant to corrosion, making them ideal for a variety of industrial uses. Aluminium 3003 is celebrated for its excellent workability and moderate strength, making it a budget-friendly option for forged parts that need to be easily shaped while still performing reliably. Semih Metals ensures that their 3003 forgings meet international quality standards, catering to industries like HVAC, architecture, food processing, and transportation.
This alloy is primarily made up of aluminium and manganese, with about 1.0–1.5% manganese and a trace of copper (around 0.05–0.20%). It’s important to note that Aluminium 3003 is a non-heat-treatable alloy, gaining its strength through cold working. Typically, its mechanical properties include a tensile strength between 130–200 MPa and a yield strength of about 65–140 MPa, with elongation values ranging from 15–25%, depending on the temper. The alloy is known for its impressive corrosion resistance, particularly in atmospheric conditions and mildly chemical environments, along with good weldability and moderate strength.

Aluminum 3003 offers excellent corrosion resistance, good formability, lightweight, and high strength-to-weight ratio, making it ideal for custom forgings in industries like aerospace, automotive, and construction.
Aluminum 3003 is not ideal for high-temperature forging applications due to its low strength at elevated temperatures. It is more suitable for applications requiring good formability at moderate temperatures.
Aluminum 3003 has good workability, making it easy to forge. Its excellent formability allows for smooth shaping, but it requires careful temperature control to avoid material damage during forging.
Aluminium 3003 forgings find their way into a variety of applications, including cooking utensils, roofing sheets, fuel tanks, piping systems, and lightweight structural components. Its unique blend of corrosion resistance, formability, and light weight makes it particularly well-suited for food and beverage equipment, HVAC components, and both decorative and functional elements in construction. While it may not be the go-to choice for high-load or high-strength applications, 3003 forgings deliver reliable performance in everyday environments, especially where aesthetics, ease of fabrication, and resistance to corrosion are essential.
