Semih Metals, a company in Istanbul, Turkey, is a reliable supplier and producer of Tool and Die Steel S7 bars, providing excellent quality, shock-resistant tool steel for harsh industrial use. S7 tool steel is renowned for its high impact resistance and toughness and is prevalently employed in the tooling, manufacturing, and heavy machinery industries. Semih Metals integrates sophisticated production methods with strict quality control to guarantee that all S7 bars reach international standards. Semih Metals aims to supply reliable, long-lasting materials that resist high-stress conditions, hence it is a desired partner for tool and die applications demanding high toughness.
Tool and Die Steel S7 is an air-hardening, shock-resistant tool steel with high impact strength and very good toughness. It has about 0.5% carbon, 5.25% chromium, and trace molybdenum and vanadium that increase its wear resistance and hardenability. S7 will have a hardness of 55–62 HRC after heat treatment but will have superior toughness over other tool steels. S7 has good machinability in the annealed condition and resists chipping and cracking when subjected to severe shock and impact loading.

The standard annealing temperature for Tool and Die Steel S7 bars is typically around 1,600°F to 1,650°F (871°C to 899°C), followed by slow cooling to relieve internal stresses.
Yes, Tool and Die Steel S7 bars are available in custom lengths and shapes, often tailored to specific customer requirements, ensuring versatility for various tooling and die applications.
Tool and Die Steel S7 bars should be stored in a dry, clean environment, ideally on elevated racks to prevent rust or contamination. They should be kept away from moisture and corrosive substances.
S7 tool steel bars are frequently utilized in those applications where excellent impact resistance and toughness are demanded. Some of the common applications include punches, chisels, shear blades, hammer dies, rivet tools, and heavy-duty stamping tooling. It is also suited for tools that are subjected to instantaneous or repeated shocks like forging dies and extrusion tooling. Due to its strength-toughness balance, S7 is preferred in operations where brittle fracture tool failure must be avoided, which enables longer service and consistent performance under severe working conditions.
