Super Duplex Steel 2507 is a high-strength duplex stainless steel alloy consisting of an equal microstructure of around 50% ferrite and 50% austenite. It has approximately 25% chromium, 7% nickel, 4% molybdenum, and nitrogen content, together providing excellent resistance against pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in chloride-rich environments. It has high tensile strength of the order 800–1,000 MPa and possesses excellent toughness and ductility. Its combined chemical composition and microstructure provide Super Duplex 2507 greater corrosion resistance than normal duplex and austenitic stainless steels.
