Our 316L Bars and Rods are designed to excel in marine, chemical, and industrial environments, offering exceptional durability even in harsh conditions. With a low carbon content, this grade ensures excellent weldability and resistance to intergranular corrosion. At Semih Metals, we take pride in providing reliable, high-performance stainless steel solutions, available in various sizes and finishes to meet the unique requirements of your projects. Your satisfaction is our top priority.
Stainless steel 316L bars and rods are manufactured in a pretty balanced chemical composition to ensure excellent performance. These usually have 16-18% chromium, 10-14% nickel, 2-3% molybdenum, 0.03% maximum carbon and little amounts of manganese, silicon, and phosphorus. This results increased corrosion resistance, particularly against pitting and crevice corrosion due to chlorides. Mechanically, it offers a tensile strength of about 485 MPa, yield strength of 170 MPa, and elongation maximum of 40% within a distance of 50mm. A low carbon content increases weldability and decreases carbide precipitation, making it especially well suited for chemical processing, marine environments, and high-temperature applications.
