Semih Metals, located in Istanbul, Turkey, stands out as a reliable manufacturer and supplier of top-notch Hastelloy C22 forgings, crafted for some of the toughest chemical environments out there. Renowned for their precision, durability, and impressive corrosion resistance, these forgings are made to comply with rigorous international standards. Semih Metals caters to various industries, including chemical processing, marine engineering, pollution control, and pharmaceuticals, providing forged components that promise longevity and performance even in the harshest conditions.
Hastelloy C22 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy, enhanced with iron and tungsten. Typically, its composition features around 56% nickel, 22% chromium, 13% molybdenum, and 3% tungsten, which together deliver outstanding resistance to both oxidizing and reducing agents. This alloy also stands strong against pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. In terms of mechanical properties, C22 forgings boast tensile strengths ranging from 690 to 760 MPa, yield strengths of about 283 to 365 MPa, and elongation values around 45%. These characteristics remain consistent across a broad temperature spectrum, and the alloy is highly weldable and formable, making it perfect for intricate forged shapes.

Yes, Hastelloy C22 can be forged into custom shapes, as it has good formability and strength at elevated temperatures. However, it requires precise control during the forging process to maintain its properties.
The ideal temperature range for forging Hastelloy C22 is between 2,100°F (1,150°C) and 2,300°F (1,260°C). This ensures optimal formability and minimizes the risk of damaging the material's properties.
The forging process for Hastelloy C22 typically takes several minutes to hours, depending on the complexity and size of the part. The heating and cooling cycles also influence the total time required for forging.
You’ll find Hastelloy C22 forgings in a variety of components, including reactor vessels, pump housings, flanges, fittings, valve bodies, and pressure-containing parts that come into contact with harsh chemicals. They’re commonly used in systems that manage chlorides, strong oxidizers, wet chlorine gas, acetic acids, and other highly corrosive materials. Key sectors for these applications include waste treatment, chemical and petrochemical processing, pulp and paper bleaching plants, and marine exhaust systems. The exceptional corrosion resistance and mechanical reliability of C22 forgings make them the go-to choice for critical applications.
